My goodness. Unbelievably grateful to have transcendent people on this earth like Steve, and story tellers like Nick and Max to relay his existence and being in such evocative language. What a profound piece of writing and witnessing. Thank you, my friends.
Absolutely incredible and moving piece. So well written and captured this amazing man who is a true teacher. I am
Blessed to have known the Widmer Brothers and their incredible family. Their talent, passion and genuine love of life has clearly guided them to produce this masterpiece. I felt as if I was right with them on Team Gleason! Truly one of the finest presentations I have read in years!!
Thank You for writing this piece. I too have ALS. This was uplifting, helpful, hope-giving. Steve your story and personal example are a source of inspiration. I will lean on you if that’s ok. Thanks for the reading list-I plan to hop to it and start reading or listening to a number of them. God (your concept of!) bless you and your lovely family. Thanks again and again to all involved in bringing this project to fruition.
Hi Jay, we went ahead and shared this feedback with Steve. It's very much appreciated on all fronts. Please feel free to keep in touch here, and happy to relay any additional thoughts/questions you might have directly to Steve. You are not alone! -Max
A bodhisattva is a Buddhist deity who has attained the highest level of enlightenment, but who delays their entry into Nirvana in order to help the earthbound gain enlightenment.
Steve may dabble in Buddhism, and would never consider himself to be a deity- but find me a bodhisattva who would. Thanks for this incredible tree-lined avenue for his teachings. Awesome ain’t easy.
Just a joy to read, while many including myself have been aware of Steve Gleason’s story much of what I’ve heard and read was like using a telescope built by Galileo; what Steve and you two have done with him bypassed the Hubble lens and shot through the universe with the Webb telescope. A very humbling journey into Steve’s soul that you captured with tender clarity. Thanks for touching us and sharing this look into the heart and soul of a saintly champion.
Absolutely incredible. As with everything Gleason adjacent, it's a reminder of how we should release the ego and live fully in the present. Thank you both so very much for this outstanding piece.
Such an amazing story and so beautifully written! Inspiring in every way, and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to read this profound ‘inner view!’ Thank you so very much for sharing this!
Incredibly well written. What a hero. This disease has struck my family, again, and Steve's honesty and wisdom and willingness to share his experience is priceless - thank you.
